Sophie Auburn has 12 years of
classical ballet training, although contemporary dance is her passion. Her love for dance was cultivated in California at
Petaluma School of Ballet. It was there that she experienced being part of a close-knit dance family which has shaped who
she is today.
Auburn’s passion for dance was fueled by traveling
to Regional Dance America festivals and receiving a scholarship to Ballet Noveau Colorado by the age of 13. She was first
introduced to creative movement styles after studying lyrical jazz, which allowed her to explore other realms of the art including
modern and contemporary. To Auburn, dancing is a lifestyle which she will continuously embody, and a joy she looks forward
to sharing with others.
After graduation from West high school,
Auburn plans to continue studying dance at the collegiate level. She is very excited to be a part of Pulse Dance Company and
work with the crazy-cool inspirational dancers that make it!

hooked, realizing that dance was no hobby, but part of who she was. During her freshman
year at the University of Alaska Anchorage, Alvarenga-Gaxiola became a member of UAA's Dance Ensemble where she dove
into modern dance and had the opportunity to participate in the American College Dance Festival. She is currently

and was immediately hypnotized by what modern dance offered her. She explored the clarity and emotional release by creating
various original works of choreography, and soon after found her true home with Pulse. She is excited to spend another season
