Having quickly forged its reputation as the most avant-garde and experimental
dance-theatre group in Alaska, Pulse Dance Company proudly brought its second season to an exuberant close this January at the Alaska Center for the Performing Arts.
Pulse’s repertoire is
widely varied in its composition, stylistic approach to movement, and scenography. The company has been acknowledged for its
intensely collaborative method of creation and has become Alaska's source for modern dance. Pulse has enjoyed performing at
Tedx Anchorage, for Alyeska Pipeline, as contributing artists to Renegade Living, and as special guest artists. Members of
the company can be found instructing varying classes from Anchorage to Eagle River, and workshops and intensives are offered
in the spring and summer.
Pulse has been featured in several publications including
the Anchorage Press, F Zine, The Northern Light, and heralded by the Anchorage Daily News
as “…defiantly eclectic and organic.”
The company's mission is
to nurture the art of dance, provide outlets within the community for the creation and performance of dance, and to collaborate
with artists of varying art forms.
